Review: This book is incredibly informitve, yet conscise enough to read in an afternoon. It has targeted, well documented information and succeedes in giving you a good overview of the industry and the steps you need to take to break into it. There are a few editing errors, as mentioned by another reviewer, but the strength of the content overshadows this minor inconvenience. I reference my copy constantly.

Review: This book does have a lot of general information about the event planning industry. It also give the reader a lot of information from industry heavy hitters. This book is unfornately not for a person who is familiar with or has worked in the industry and are looking to branch out on their own. It is also not a strong suit for those interested in staying more on the social side of event planning. Most of the resources and examples (contracts etc.) are geared to those who are planning large scale events where the customer will be giving you all the money to spend as needed. Overall the authors did their best to tackle such a lofty subject in so few pages. I just don't think they were as sucessful as they could have been.
